What is the Sloss Music & Arts Festival?

The Sloss Music & Arts Festival is a premier music experience set on the grounds of the National Historic Landmark, Sloss Furnaces. It features a lineup of great renowned headliners and emerging artists. Two days full of great performances and engaging activities that will make for an unforgettable weekend this summer!

When and where is the festival?

July 15 & 16, 2017

The festival takes place at Sloss Furnaces, located in the heart of downtown Birmingham, AL.

What time do gates open each day and when does the music start/end?

Gates will open at 12:30PM. Music will begin at 1:30PM and conclude at approximately 11:30PM

Is this a family friendly event?

This is definitely a family friendly event and welcomes guests of all ages. Children ages 6 and under will be admitted free when accompanied by an adult admission.

Do you allow re-entry into the festival?

Yes, re-entry will be allowed on a daily basis prior to 7PM. Only one re-entry per patron unless accompanied by a medical note. Please see a member of the gate staff upon exit to receive a re-entry wristband. Be sure to have your re-entry wristband AND Ticketmaster ticket upon re-entry.

Can I bring a backpack into the festival?

Yes, you can, but it is subject to search.

I am media on assignment, how do I apply for media credentials?

Sloss Fest will distribute a limited number of media credentials to press members on assignment. The deadline to apply for media credentials is Friday, June 30th, 2017. Click here to download a media application

What should I bring?

Your usual festival gear:

What should I NOT bring?

Weapons, food & drink, alcohol, illegal substances of any kind, umbrellas, coolers, chairs more than 1 inch off the ground, lasers, glow sticks, stickers, silly string, confetti, glitter, spray-paint, pets (service dogs will be permitted), glass containers & metal aerosol cans, including sunscreen in aerosol cans, scooters or personal motorized vehicles, professional recording equipment, detachable lens camera, audio recording equipment, video recording equipment, gopros, selfie sticks, fireworks or other explosives, large chains or spiked jewelry, tents or canopies, skateboards, no unauthorized vendors will be permitted, no solicitations, handbills, sampling, give-aways, etc.

What kind of camera can I bring?

Point and shoot digital cameras are allowed. Cameras with detachable lenses are prohibited.

Is there camping on site at the festival?

No, there is no camping at Sloss Music & Arts festival, but we do have several great hotels nearby. Check out our accommodations HERE.

What are acceptable forms of ID to purchase alcohol with?

Driver’s License, Government-issued ID or Passport

If I need medical attention, can I get that?

If you need medical attention while at Sloss, we will have two (2) MedHelp Medical Tents located on site. If you can’t make it to the MedHelp Medical Tents, please grab one of our security team members and they will quickly assist you.

Will there be Wi-Fi available?

Yes, there will be free public Wi-Fi available on site sponsored by Bright House Business Solutions.

Do all vendors accept credit cards?

Some vendors will be accepting credit cards, but we will have several ATMs on site for your convenience.

Can I bring food into the festival?

Delicious food (including vegetarian options) and drinks will be available on-site.

What if I lose my stuff?

There will be a lost and found located at the Information Tent on site.

Will there be a festival map available so we can see which bands will be on which stages and see the locations of food, restrooms, etc?

Yes, the 2017 festival map will be released in advance of the festival. You will also have access to a map in our festival guide given at the entrance and on the mobile app. Please note that lineup and map are subject to change.

Are there water stations at the festival?

Stay hydrated, Sloss Fest Family! Free water filling stations will be located throughout Sloss Furnaces. Make sure you bring your empty water container to fill up throughout the day. There will also be Sloss Music & Arts Festival branded water bottles available for purchase at the Merch booth. Ice cold Dasani water bottles will also be available for sale.

Will I be able to charge my phone while on-site?

Yes, there will be a charging station not only on festival grounds but also in VIP tents thanks to our friends at Alabama Power.

Accessibility

I have limited mobility, may I bring in a wheelchair?

Yes, wheelchairs and motorized wheelchairs are permitted.

Are service animals allowed?

Pets are NOT allowed at the festival, however service animals, which are trained to provide assistance to a patron with a disability, are allowed.

Special Dietary Needs

If a patron has a special dietary restriction, those items will be allowed onto festival grounds if accompanied by a doctor’s note.

Any medically necessary medicine and materials must be in the name of the patron. Your ID will be matched with the label on the items brought to the festival. Please dispose of any medical waste and syringes at the First Aid stations found around the festival grounds. Please do not dispose of them in trash bins.

Ticketing

What is the difference between General Admission, VIP and "Iron" Pass?

General Admission allows you into the festival and access to great music and some of the exciting activities on site.

The VIP ticket allows you into the festival and access to great music, exciting activities on site, two exclusive VIP tents with private restrooms and bar, a VIP viewing area at each stage, a 2017 SM&AF limited edition poster just for VIPs and a souvenir laminate. VIP passes also allow access into the three “Iron” tents onsite.

The “Iron” ticket allows you into the festival and access to great music, exciting activities on site and two of our air-conditioned tents with seating and private bars.

I bought a ticket, when will I receive my wristband?

VIP and “Iron” ticket holders will have special entry lanes at the festival and will receive your wristband upon entry.

Can I take my wristband off?

Wristbands will be used for VIP and “Iron” tickets and cannot be removed and must be worn throughout the two days in order to gain entry into the festival. Please do not remove, stretch or tamper with your wristband in anyway or you will be denied entry and that will upset us!

I lost my wristbands, what should I do?

Wristbands are non-exchangeable and cannot be replaced.

Will there be a Will Call available to pick up my tickets & wristbands?

No, there will not be a Will Call on site. You must bring your tickets with you to the festival. Ticketmaster will offer “print-at-home” or mail options. The mail delivery option will end 10 days before the festival date. At that time, tickets are print-at-home only. Print-at-home tickets can be scanned at the gate via cell phone. There will be a Ticketmaster Customer Service Booth located near the festival entrance to assist with any questions.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

Yes, if quantities remain, all ticket types will be available at the door.

Can I upgrade my Ticket?

Yes, please reach out to Ticketmaster’s Customer Service line at call at 800.653.8000 and they will assist with upgrading.

What does the seat number on my Ticketmaster ticket mean?

The seat number listed on your tickets does not correlated to an assigned seat on site. Sloss Music & Arts Festival does not have any assigned seating.

Do I need to have my Ticketmaster Ticket on me at all times? Even after I receive a wristband?

Yes, do not lose your Ticketmaster ticket. You will need the appropriate Saturday or Sunday ticket to enter and re-enter the festival each day.

Please note, weekend ticket holders will receive one ticket for the entire weekend. Do not lose or throw away your ticket after Saturday, as you will need it to enter the festival on Sunday as well.

Parking

Will there be parking available?

There will be paid parking available in secured lots at many warehouse parking lots near Sloss Furnaces. Exact parking lot locations will be announced closer to the festival dates.

There will be golf carts running from parking lots to the festival entrance during the event each day.

Will there be a place to park my bicycle?

You'll be able to ride your bicycle to Sloss Fest and park it in a secure location while you're enjoying all of the sites and sounds of the festival. The Bike Valet program is free for all festival patrons but donations are appreciated. If you're bike is in need of a tune up, the good people at Redemptive Cycles will be on hand to fix what needs fixing for an additional fee.
