Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame
This art-deco museum honors great jazz artists with ties to the state of Alabama. While furnishing educational information, the museum is also a place for entertainment. Exhibits convey the accomplishments of the likes of Nat King Cole, Duke Ellington, Lionel Hampton and Erskine Hawkins and the music that made them famous. Within this fine musical collection, visitors travel from the beginnings of boogie woogie with Clarence “Pinetop” Smith to the jazz space journeys of Sun Ra and his Intergalactic Space Arkestra.
Barber Motorsports
Home to the world’s best motorcycle collection, the museum now has over 1200 vintage and modern motorcycles and racecars and the largest collection of Lotus cars as well as other significant makes. The collection is the largest of its kind in the world. There are approximately 600 of the 1200 motorcycles on display at any given time. These bikes range from 1902 to current-year production. The museum displays common street bikes as well as rare one-off Gran Prix race machinery.
Birmingham Barons
Spend your afternoon at Regions Park watching the Birmingham Barons. The Birmingham Barons are a minor league baseball team based in Birmingham, Alabama. The team, which plays in the Southern League, is the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox major-league club.
Birmingham Botanical Gardens
Birmingham Botanical Gardens was named one of the top three free attractions in America in 2016 by USA Today. It has more than 12,000 different plants in its living collections. The Gardens' 67.5 acres contains 27 unique gardens, 30+ works of original outdoor sculpture and miles of serene paths.
Birmingham Civil Rights Institute
BCRI is a cultural and educational research center that promotes a comprehensive understanding and appreciation for the significance of civil rights developments in Birmingham with an increasing emphasis on the international struggle for universal human rights. BCRI is a “living institution” that views the lessons of the past as crucial to understanding our heritage and defining our future.
Birmingham Museum of Art
The Birmingham Museum of Art, one of the finest regional museums in the United States, houses a diverse collection of more than 26,000 paintings, sculpture, prints, drawings, and decorative arts dating from ancient to modern times. Birmingham Zoo
The Birmingham zoo is inspiring Passion for the Natural World…through emphasizing Conservation, Education, Scientific Study and Recreation in all aspects of the Zoo’s exhibits, programs, facilities and activities. McWane Science Center
Designed to inspire a life-long love of learning, McWane Science Center has welcomed millions of visitors since opening its doors in 1998. Explorers – from ages 1 to 100 – flock year-round to see, to hear, to touch, and to experience the wonder of science in one of the South’s most unique venues.
Railroad Park
Railroad Park is a 19 acre green space in downtown Birmingham that celebrates the industrial and artistic heritage of our great city. Situated along 1st Avenue South, between 14th and 18th Streets, the park is a joint effort between the City of Birmingham and the Railroad Park Foundation. Hailed as “Birmingham’s Living Room,” Railroad Park provides a historically rich venue for local recreation, family activities, concerts, and cultural events, while connecting Birmingham’s downtown area with Southside and UAB’s campus.

Vulcan Park & Museum
Vulcan, Birmingham Alabama’s colossal statue is the world’s largest cast iron statue and considered one of the most memorable works of civic art in the United States. Designed by Italian artist Giuseppe Moretti and cast from local iron in 1904, Vulcan has overlooked Alabama’s largest city from atop Red Mountain since the 1930s.

Chez Fonfon
Chez Fonfon is that cozy, casual French bistro that we hope transfers you to Paris, Lyons or Nice. Opened in 2000 by Frank and Pardis Stitt, it is a bustling place serving classic, hearty French fare: steak tartare, moules et frites, sautéed trout with brown butter, escargots, and homemade charcuterie. We offer the most delicious wines, chosen for their value and quirkiness, from the Loire, Rhône and Languedoc.
Dreamland BBQ
Dreamland Bar-B-Que was founded in 1958 by John “Big Daddy” Bishop in Tuscaloosa, AL and has now grown to include eight restaurants and an online store. Dreamland Bar-B-Que was recently placed on Alabama Food Blog’s “Top 5 Dishes Alabama Does Best”.
EastWest
EastWest, the new Asian inspired restaurant on 2nd Ave N (in the old What’s on 2nd location). EastWest’s Head Chef and owner is former Chuck's Fish Birmingham head chef for over 5+ years- with company for 15+ years.
El Barrio
Set on downtown’s quickly emerging 2nd Ave. North, El Barrio brings an exciting, different flavor to the Birmingham restaurant scene. Fancy's on 5th
Fancy's on 5th is an Oyster Dive + Burger Bar located in the heart of Avondale right across from the park. Named for the Elephant Miss Fancy , the 1920s Avondale Zoo’s main attraction and mascot, we want this eatery to be everything you love about your favorite burger bar and local oyster dive, but taken to a new level. We joke that there is nothing fancy about this place except the name. This is why we kept the rustic exposed brick walls and original ceilings and tiles. We have also used locally sourced wood with every opportunity.
Gianmarcos
Opening it's doors in February 2003, Gianmarco's quickly grew to be a local favorite in the Birmingham community and the close-knit Homewood neighborhood it calls home. If what you crave is an authentic Italian meal, or selection of several hand-crafted daily specials ranging from grass-fed prime cut ribeyes, to fresh grouper with andouille gumbo, to braised veal ossobuco, your senses will thank you after a dinner with us.
Highlands Bar & Grill
Our daily-changing menu, rooted in classic French technique, features the best from each harvest. We anticipate the cooler weather game of venison and quail, root vegetables and greens; the first springtime shad roe and the blue-green, live and kickin’ soft shell crabs arriving a few weeks later, followed by summer’s shell beans, tomatoes and okra. The Hot and Hot Fish Club takes a modern approach to blending French, Southern, and California-styles of cooking, set against the backdrop of downtown Birmingham. The airy dining room and connecting bar offer ever-changing dishes and cocktails executed by Chef/Co-Owner Chris Hastings and his team and are inspired by Alabama, the local farmer’s harvest, and other artisans of every kind.
Iron City Grill
The Grill at Iron City strives to deliver a white tablecloth experience in a casual, comfortable atmosphere. It is one of the few restaurants in the South where you can enjoy a pre-concert drink or meal and end up alongside your favorite musician.
Jack Brown’s Beer & Burger Joint
The menu is purposely simple. Jack Brown’s is a bar, that sells a great burger. It is not a restaurant trying to please all tastes. They focus on: do one thing and do it right. There is an amazing menu of craft beer ranging from the local darlings to rare beers from around the world.

Pizitz Food Hall
The Pizitz Food Hall showcases an exciting collection of small restaurant concepts from an array of accomplished restaurateurs and serves as a tribute to culinary tradition as well as Birmingham's growing status as an ambitious food city. The Pizitz Food Hall features 12 stalls, two full-service restaurants, Yellowhammer Creative, Warby Parker, The Louis bar and outdoor seating. Owners Laney DeJonge and Clark Lopez would like to welcome you to Rojo, a casual neighborhood restaurant on Highland Avenue in Birmingham, Alabama. Featuring both Latin and American cuisine, Rojo is the perfect place to unwind with friends for lunch, dinner, or late night drinks. Rojo also serves a delicious weekend brunch Saturdays and Sundays from 11am until 3pm.
Saw’s BBQ
Cooking with Paula Deen, the famous southern cook’s magazine ranked Saw’s BBQ No. 1 on a list of The Best Barbecue Across America. Saw’s has taken Birmingham by a smoky storm. First opening in a residential area of Homewood, the venue has expanded to three locations where they serve classic pulled pork, chicken smothered in distinctive white sauce, and barbecue-topped baked potatoes. Saw’s BBQ recently topped the Birmingham Business Journal’s list of highest-rated BBQ joints in the city.

The Fish Market
The Fish Market goes to great lengths to bring its guests a variety of fine, fresh seafood from Alabama’s Gulf coast and around the world. In this new restaurant, the live lobster have company. Their state-of-the-art tanks hold a choice selection of live seafood such as shrimp, blue crabs, rainbow trout and tilapia.
Trattoria Centrale
Those not in the mood for pizza (who’s not in the mood for pizza?) will find seasonally inspired salads, specials, soups, as well as traditional Roman pastas like penne all’arrabbiata and spaghetti cacio e pepe to satisfy their hunger. A daily breakfast menu highlighted with locally sourced eggs, bread, grits, coffee and milk (for the only truly local latte in the city) gives diners a taste of what has become Trattoria Centrale’s most popular event: Sunday brunch.

41St Street Pub & Aircraft Sales is a classic neighborhood bar featuring Birmingham’s first shuffleboard tables. 41st offers a clean, fun and stylish environment perfect for enjoying a few drinks and having something to do other than stare at a TV or listen to live music (We do have TVs which generally stay turned off unless requested, but we do not have live music). We also have dartboards and even offer couch seating with coffee tables and a few board games available. Cahaba Brewing Company was founded in the summer of 2011 by a group of friends united by their love of craft beer and home brewing. Together, they devised a plan to build a brewery in beautiful Birmingham, Alabama.
Dram Whiskey Bar

Feizal Valli and Rachael Roberts are two ridiculous people who met in 2013 and got married three years later.
